Accessibility Policy
At The Blue Lotus Practice, we are committed to making counselling as accessible as possible. We aim to provide a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all clients, whether sessions take place online or in person.
Online Sessions
Therapy is primarily provided via secure online platforms, ensuring access for clients who cannot attend in person.
Clients are encouraged to use the device and format that works best for them (laptop, tablet, or phone).
We are happy to make reasonable adjustments, such as allowing breaks during sessions, adapting communication style, or using captions where available.
If a client experiences technical difficulties, we will work together to reschedule or complete the session in a way that best supports their needs.
In-Person Sessions - by arrangement only
In-person sessions are available by arrangement only, either through hired venues or home visits where suitable.
If mobility support is required (e.g., wheelchair access), clients are encouraged to inform us in advance so appropriate arrangements can be made, or suitable alternatives offered.
We aim to provide a safe environment free from barriers, discrimination, or harassment.
Affordability - by arrangement only
We believe therapy should be accessible regardless of financial circumstances.
We offer a limited number of concessionary rate slots, starting from £40 per session, for clients who are:
in receipt of certain benefits,
seniors (aged 70+), or
students in full-time education.
These reduced-rate places are subject to availability and can be discussed during the initial assessment.
All ongoing sessions, including concessionary rates, are charged weekly via securely stored card details in line with our payment policy.
General Commitment
We treat all clients with dignity and respect, regardless of age, gender, race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or background.
We will make reasonable adjustments wherever possible to meet accessibility needs.
If we are unable to meet a specific requirement, we will be transparent about this and explore alternative options collaboratively.
